Restaurants Near Lake Saint Louis, MO
A lakeside restaurant 20 minutes west of Lake Saint Louis. The other lake — and worth the drive.
Lake Saint Louis has its own character — upscale, suburban, family-oriented, and built around one of the prettiest planned-community lakes in the region. What it doesn't have a lot of is destination dining. The Meadows shopping district has solid options, the chains around Lake Saint Louis Boulevard hit the mark for everyday meals, but when you want something more — a real date night, a meal worth photographing, a place to host out-of-town guests — there's a noticeable gap.
That gap is exactly the gap The Quarry was built to fill. We're a 26-acre lakeside restaurant, wine bar, and live music venue in New Melle, Missouri — about 20 minutes west of Lake Saint Louis via Highway N or Highway 40/61, depending on which side of town you're starting from. Chef-crafted American food, an extensive wine list, six indoor golf simulator bays, an outdoor turf and patio area overlooking our quarry lake, live music most weekends, and a full wedding venue. Same county, completely different vibe.
Why The Quarry is the 20-minute drive worth making
If you've ever driven out to Defiance for a wine trail day, you've probably passed within a few miles of us without realizing it. We sit on the western edge of St. Charles County — far enough out that the property feels like a real escape from suburbia, close enough that the drive from Lake Saint Louis is shorter than going downtown for dinner.
The thing that sets The Quarry apart for Lake Saint Louis residents specifically is the atmosphere. You came to Lake Saint Louis because you wanted water and a slower pace than the inner suburbs — we offer the same thing in restaurant form. Lakeside dining without the crowds, an outdoor patio without parking-lot noise, a wine list built around small producers, a kitchen that actually changes the menu when the seasons change. None of that is something you can get from a chain restaurant near The Meadows.
And practically speaking: we're the same drive as going out to St. Louis for dinner, but you don't sit in highway traffic, you don't pay for parking, and you don't fight a crowd to get a table. For a lot of Lake Saint Louis couples, that math is the whole reason they make the trip.

What you can do at The Quarry on any given visit
The best way to think about The Quarry from Lake Saint Louis is that it's not just a restaurant — it's a small destination. People come out for one of these reasons, often more than one in the same evening:
- Date night dinner — wood-fired steaks, fresh seafood, an extensive wine list, and a quiet lakeside atmosphere. The kind of meal you actually slow down for.
- Live music weekends — Friday and Saturday nights with regional touring acts, plus themed events like 80s Neon Bingo and ladies' Singo brunches.
- Indoor golf bay rentals — book a simulator bay for an hour or three, perfect for couples, friend groups, or work outings, and order food and drinks straight to the bay.
- Sunday brunch — live music, bottomless options, and the kind of leisurely Sunday energy you actually planned for.
- Wedding tours — if you or someone in your circle is engaged, our 26-acre lakeside venue is one of the most distinctive options in St. Charles County. Coordination by Jacqueline Hirschbeck is included with every booking.
- Private events — birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, corporate gatherings, retirement parties. We can host groups of all sizes with customizable menus.
If you're planning a visit, our dinner menu is the best place to see what the kitchen is currently serving, and the events calendar shows what's happening on the night you're considering.
Reservations: Friday and Saturday nights book up early, especially when there's live music or a ticketed event on the calendar. We strongly recommend reserving a table in advance — walk-ins are welcome but seating is first-come, first-served once the floor fills up.
